Learn from world-class national and international scientists and engineers in the Accelerator Physics and Technology Field

The second edition of the Mexican Particle Accelerator School (MePAS) will be held in the city of Guanajuato from 11 to 21 November 2015. It has been designed to trigger the training of Mexican human resources in the field of particle accelerator technology. It is organized by the Mexican Particle Accelerator Comunity and its aim is gathering.

It is intended for students of physics and engineering (mechanical, electronics, physics, computer or similar disciplines) that are pursuing postgraduate studies (Master or PhD) as well as outstanding advanced undergraduate students, who are really interested in the field.

General information

The MePAS is part of the efforts to initiate a long term accelerator program in Mexico, which in its first stage will be focused on the design, eventual construction and operation of a synchrotron light source.  It is fully supported by the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT) as part of a project granted to the Red FAE (High Energy Physics Network).

The official language of the school is English. All candidates must have good communication skills in this language.

The organizing committee will cover travel expenses (ground transportation and in exceptional cases airfare tickets) and local expenses (Hotel + breakfast) of the 40 selected students.

The instructors will assign daily homework to the students which must be completed and turned in next day. The homework will be graded and a final note, considering the global work, will be delivered to the professor who recommended the student for the school.
